Bell ringer:
Issaiah 26
Stretch the Borders of Life

You will keep in perfect peace
him whose mind is steadfast,
because he trusts in you.

People with their minds set on you,
you keep completely whole,
Steady on their feet,
because they keep at it and don't quit.

You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character] is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.

Thou will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on these

-------------
What has God got to do with this?
How do we get in touch?
How does God get in touch with us?

Different ways to pray..
  • Scientific Statement of Being
  • Lord's prayer
  • Definition of man
  • Daily prayer
  • A fav hymn

What's the point of all of these?

Sometime we shall learn how Spirit, the great architect, has
created men and women in Science.

Jesus lifted off thoughts/ beliefs of nonproductivity.
Purpose and motive to live aright

God given purpose:

Real objects will be apprehended mentally instead of materially
example: the flight back from JFK.. a seat by the windows

the relations of God and man, div Prin and idea are indestructible in Sc, and Sc knows no lapse from nor return to harmony. holds the divine order or sp law to have remained unchanged in its eternal history

a miracle unfolds the primal order

Science is unfolding the immutable, harmonious , div Principle -- is unfolding Life and the universe, etc present and eternal.

harmony is the fact and sickness is a temporal dream./ Realize the presence of health and the fact of harmonious being, until the body corresponds

realize ( become fully aware of something as a fact ) the presence of health and the fact of harmonious being until the body corresponds with the normal conditions of health and harmony.

the divine understanding reigns, is all , and there is no other consciousness.

RR
God is the only power.
He’s the doer.. any suggestion that we are, leads to wrong conclusions.

Section I: Where does God reign? What does God's kingdom look like?

Get to know the landscape.

to be as sure of God’s reign, control , as we are of our times tables.

As idea, our job is to be God's witness and servant -- God's story. Just like numbers and notes tell the story of mathematics and music. We are ESSENTIAL to God's being, but God is the reigning power. Then, no matter what you are asked to do or where you are, or what "the devil" is SUGGESTING to you -- translate your activity into Spirit (Mind and ideas) and praise GOD for HIS control

Section 2: Spirit, the great architect, made you!

Some people from history who say things differently and were not believed and persecuted.

hey didn't believe Galileo either - even after he offered "proof." But, now everyone knows that Copernicus and Galileo were right and we're not even tempted to believe what our eyes tell us.
The Science of Mind (the facts of true creation.) says that life is already harmonious. It's worth the effort to understand this Science. (S-9) You don't have to go along with the crowd. You can be a trend setter by accepting that Spirit designed you with perfect specifications! So, you are strong and nothing about you can ever crumble! Isn't that kind of promise worth refuting the testimony of the senses?

Section 3: God, Spirit, controls the universe, including the weather. Stand still and see it!

Elijah finally convinced the people (and Ahab) that his God was more reliable than the gods of Baal. Remember when Elijah had a contest with the prophets of Baal to see which side could get a fire started first? (I Kings 18) After that, God told Elijah that rain would be coming, and Elijah told Ahab. Wow! That's faith! The senses reported a cloudless sky. No indication it would rain, but Elijah was used to listening to God. He went up to the mountain and prayed to see what God had assured him would be there.
It seemed like a miracle -- that rain would suddenly come. But it was natural, because the atmosphere of thought was finally ready to turn back to the source of all good. (S-11)

Work to see what God is doing - as Elijah worked to see it - and you'll start seeing evidence of the real (and harmonious), and the lies of material sense will break apart and be carried away from view. Don't be fooled by the evidence of the senses! The sun appears to move around the earth, but in science the sun is still and the earth moves. Right where inharmony appears to be, in Science there IS harmony!

Section 4: Storms? What's the big deal? Science shushes them up!

(B-15) The prophet Amos tried to give the people of his time the Scientific view: no matter how it looks, God made everything and even gives man his thoughts! (B-16) Isn't it time to start really accepting the facts ... instead of getting distracted by the sense testimony picture? Stick to Science and there is NOTHING to be afraid of. Why was Jesus so good at reversing the evidence of matter? Because he viewed EVERYTHING from the standpoint of Science (true knowledge.)

16 | Amos 4:13 lo lo, he that formeth the mountains,
and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his
thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth
upon the high places of the earth, The Lord, The God of
hosts, is his name.

Speak with the authority of Christ. Remember, a counterfeit has no buying power once it's seen to be a counterfeit. Neither does the storm - no matter how loud it rages or how scary it looks! Practice on the little stuff -- accept NO disturbances. Then the "big" things won't seem so scary.

Golden Text

Isaiah 41:4 (King James Version)

4Who hath wrought and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I the LORD, the first, and with the last; I am he.

Isaiah 41:4 (The Message)

4"Who did this? Who made it happen?
Who always gets things started?
I did. God. I'm first on the scene.
I'm also the last to leave.

How to hear God:
don't dismiss God

listen.. pay attention ..
not listening to other things
be still.... and know that God is here..
attitude of Gratitude -- realizing, looking for the good that is there.

What does God do for us:
protects ,
guides us
loves us

Everyone has those qualities.. If they are not visible , we can express them ourselves. It will inspire them.

Bible as a guide book.
- where is it taking people?

The Bible includes a great number of types of literature. Some forms of literature describe an entire book. In the Bible the most important of these forms are laws and rules, history, poetry and songs, wisdom sayings and proverbs, Gospels, letters, and apocalyptic writings. Other forms of literature describe sections within a book. The most important of these forms are prose narrative, prayers, parables, prophesies (oracles), and long family lists (genealogies).

Using a wider view.. expanding our horizons.
Using the tools / knowledge to help.

How did Jesus and others' help?
He was a wayshower.... What way was he showing?
He demonstrated divine law.
- abundance
- health, wholeness
-distance
-protection
-guidance

Whom do you look up to? Why?

Bible character short snappers

Make up categories for these people

Sample:

For each of the characters come up with two questions that bring out important aspects of their story

--------------------------
Conduct interview of church member based on themes and questions we've come up with.

Themes

May 3, Everlasting Punishment

Definition of man.

There is stuff/ qualities in God ... that is in God, that we choose not to use.
- patience,

in us... that God didn't make
random stuff..
procrastination, ignoring, anything bad..

Prayer..
being clear about the real, true idea or quality
Aleigha is throw away the bogus..
Refuse to accept, to be ripped off..

Supreme authority

Review 23 rd Psalms
Scientific Statement of Being

Everlasting Punishment...

Who is punishing us when we make an error in our math facts, or spelling list?
How can we correct it? -- escape from this 'suffering'

What is error?

There is 'spell checker' we can use: our awareness of the facts of being, or our relationship with God. With than in mind ( loaded into consciousness, we are alerted when we are 'in error')

Sunday, April 26: Probation after Death

There are ways which seemeth right unto a man; but the end thereof are the ways of death
-- Prov 14:12

Example: Sent 21:30... the new puppy..

The story of the robins

You won't want to miss this call!
What is Christ calling to us?

Love doesn't leave us in a place without answers.

"A voice from heaven we have heard, the call to rise from earth ... then heed high heaven's call. Obey the voice of Truth, arise, and let not fear enthrall." (Christian Science Hymnal #5)

How can we help our parents and friends?

God's Call:
